things in illinois that remind me of mexico:

1~lots of noisy children confined to one space (the busload of people Christmas caroling was almost like riding home in the orphanage van after Saturday school!)
2~eating the ocassional dishes that the Mexicans at share at work
3~making tortillas
4~sorting beans (albeit black beans)
5~taking care of a little boy who can be very Chuy-like
6~saying "No, no!" all of the time
7~listening to my Sunday school class generate the most original comments that make me laugh (and, unfortunately, sometimes the youth guys on the other side of our wall laugh too)
8~struggling to express myself in Spanish

and then there are things that really DON'T remind me of mexico:
1~slippery roads and snowplows
2~lack of speedbumps :)
3~vacuuming carpet
4~the abundance of meat in my diet (not to make anyone jealous)
5~having so much STUFF
6~wearing shoes other than flip-flops (I haven't worn flip-flops since I've been home, btw)
7~singing 4-part harmony at church
8~the focus on possessions rather than relationships

but some things never change:
1~God's faithfulness
2~awesome family and friends that still keep in contact no matter where I am
3~the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart

lol at riding in the van! So in the bus you were really sitting on peoples laps and jammed in with un-showered and deodorant free bodies! Cuz if you weren't than how could it remind you of the orphanage van! JK O yea we have another van now that us guys and the boys usually use. That is a definite plus!!
